Angela Evelyn Bassett, an American actress, is known for her roles in film and television since the late 1980s. Bassett has been awarded a variety of honors, like the Golden Globe Award, and 16 NAACP Image Awards. Known for her work in television and in film from the mid-80s onwards, she's won numerous awards including two Golden Globe Awards and sixteen NAACP Image Awards in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards and seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett grew up living in Winston-Salem North Carolina, raised by her aunt and Uncle in New York New York. Bassett was able to move with her younger sister to St. Petersburg Florida at age five in order to be near their mother as she was divorced from their dad. Bassett was in high school when saw the James Earl Jones staring John Steinbeck production Of Mice and Men and realized that her desire to become an actor been realized. Yale University New Haven Connecticut, where she received her bachelor's in African American and master's degrees (1983). Courtney B. Vance met her at Yale and, in 1997 they got married. Qualification: B.A. at Yale's School of Drama. awarded an M.A. in Fine Arts in African American Studies to Angela Bassett back in the year. She attended the following schools: Jordan Park elementary school, Disston Middle School for 7th graders, Azalea Middle School for 8th and 9th grades and Boca Ciega High School.
